Tool 21 of the Gender in Education Network in Asia-Pacific (GENIA) Toolkit aims to support efforts to mainstream gender equality in teacher education and professional development. The objectives of this toolkit are to introduce issues concerning gender equality in teacher education, including the importance of gender training and mainstreaming gender in teacher education programmes and to help trainees to assess existing teacher education through a gender lens.
