In the lead up to the International Women’s Day 2021, 8 March 2021, ECW, INEE and UNGEI, three partner organisations working for gender equality in education in emergencies, joined forces launch a toolkit promoting gender-responsive and inclusive education interventions in emergency and protracted crises settings: the EiE-GenKit. This short film, first screened during the launch event on 3 March 2021, provides an overview of the rationale behind developing the EiE-GenKit, its contents and usage, and its relevance in the current COVID-19 climate. Hear from EiE practitioners, experts and leaders who helped shape the EiE-GenKit; young advocates actively working to advance gender equality in EiE; and the leadership of UNGEI, ECW and INEE. In a time where the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing gender and education inequalities, particularly affecting adolescent girls, the EiE-GenKit is a global good to improve gender-responsiveness and inclusivity in EiE interventions.
