Singing to the Lions
A facilitator's guide to overcoming fear and violence in our lives
There is considerable research into the impact of violence on children’s psychological and physical health. Violence, as it is understood in the Singing to the Lions guide, refers to experiences of physical, sexual or emotional abuse, injury, exploitation or significant loss – or the threat thereof. This six-module workshop is for children and youth eight years and older who have experienced or witnessed violence in their family, school or community. It can help children and youth develop skills and resilience to respond effectively to fear and violence in their lives.
