Routine Screening for Child Sexual Abuse in Schools: An Implementation Guide
Routine Screening for Child Sexual Abuse in Schools: An Implementation Guide explains how a screening tool was used for the first time in two public primary schools in Kenya (for students in Grades 6-8). It gives an idea of the results that can be expected from carrying out the screening intervention. ‘Screening’ in the context of the guide refers to the standardized assessment of students (through asking a series of questions about sexual violence), regardless of whether they ‘appear’ to be victims of sexual violence or not. A screening tool for facilitating this process is provided in the Appendix.
