Putting gender equality at the heart of education
A proud feminist and educationist, Sarah leads advocacy and communications for UNGEI. As such, she coordinates the partnership’s public-facing work including digital advocacy, campaigns, learning and events.
As a serial volunteer with a longstanding zeal for international development, Sarah is a fierce advocate for girls' education, gender equality and enterprise of the socially aware, system changing variety. Before joining UNGEI, she managed communications for the international NGO CAMFED – Campaign for Female Education, and was the founding trustee of the Edna Adan Foundation – supporting education and maternal health in Somaliland, East Africa.
She holds a BA in English Literature, an MPhil in Educational Research and a PhD in International Education from the University of Cambridge. She has lived, worked and studied across four continents.
