Youth are not only the beneficiaries of transformation in education, they are essential partners. In fact, they are the transformers. From Australia to Zimbabwe, youth-led networks and organizations are mobilizing and working together to transform education to help every child get a quality education, no matter who she, he or they are. Social and cultural norms can be a major barrier to gender equality in education, says Kashumbar. We must fight for the rights of young mothers to return to school. Working with the Association of Uganda School Leaving Youth (AUSLEY), Kashumbar is committed to transforming education for gender equailty through extracurricular activities.
