Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality in and through Education

The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, Sierra Leone, UNGEI, and UNICEF welcome you to the opening ceremony of the High-Level meeting, Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality in and through Education, on May 18, 9 am-10.45 am GMT. The opening ceremony with a keynote address by His Excellency President Bio, President of Sierra Leone, will kick off the 3-day Ministers’ Meeting organized within the Gender at the Centre Initiative (GCI) framework on 18-20 May in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The three-day meeting will reflect and commit to what it takes for African education systems to become an influential force of change toward gender-equal societies. The event will end with the Ministers of Education sharing their commitments to promote gender equality in and through education and will outline the next steps toward the Transforming Education Summit in September 2022.
